Senior Carer - Nights
£14.60 per hour | 3 Nights On / 3 Nights Off | 10pm–8am

We're looking for an experienced and compassionate Senior Care Assistant to join our team at Towy Castle Care Home.

Set within beautiful grounds overlooking the Towy Estuary, Towy Castle provides high-quality residential and dementia care in a warm, welcoming environment where residents truly feel at home.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Senior Care Assistant, Team Leader or Night Care Assistant looking to progress into a leadership role with greater responsibility.

About Towy Castle

Towy Castle is a beautiful residential care home providing high-quality residential and dementia care in a friendly and supportive environment.

As part of our dedicated night team, you'll help ensure our residents remain safe, comfortable and well cared for throughout the night while supporting and leading your colleagues.

About the Role

As the senior person on duty overnight, you'll lead the night team, ensuring the home runs safely and efficiently while maintaining the highest standards of care.

Working alongside a team of four night staff, you'll provide leadership, support and guidance while continuing to deliver excellent person-centred care.

Your responsibilities will include:

Leading and supporting the night team.
Ensuring residents receive safe, compassionate, person-centred care.
Supporting with personal care, repositioning and continence care where required.
Administering medication safely.
Completing medication audits and changeovers.
Carrying out regular welfare and safety checks.
Maintaining accurate records and handovers.
Responding confidently to emergencies and unexpected situations.
Liaising with healthcare professionals and the Out of Hours team when required.
Supporting with cleaning, laundry and general overnight duties.
Promoting a positive, safe and well-organised working environment.

What We're Looking For

✔ Previous experience working within a residential care setting.

✔ Experience leading or supervising a care team.

✔ Confident making decisions independently.

✔ Medication administration experience.

✔ Excellent communication and leadership skills.

✔ A caring, reliable and professional approach.

✔ Able to commit to the advertised night rota.

Desirable

NVQ/QCF Level 3 in Health & Social Care.
Experience supporting older people and those living with dementia.

This rota includes weekends and bank holidays, and forms part of your contracted hours.

Location

Towy Castle Care Home is located near Carmarthen and is easily commutable from Llanelli, Llandeilo, Ammanford, Cross Hands, Kidwelly, St Clears, Whitland and the surrounding areas.

Due to the rural location of the home and limited public transport during night-time hours, applicants must be able to travel reliably to and from work.
