Senior Quantity Surveyor

Leeds

Up to £60,000

37 Hours per week, No weekends

Norse Group's Consulting services is a national, award-winning property consultancy delivering high profile commissions to a range of public and private sector clients across the UK. Our multi-disciplined teams provide a number of property services to our clients, undertaking a wide range of projects including residential/commercial/educational of varying size and complexity, resulting in innovative, sustainable and commercially viable delivery.

The Senior Quantity Surveyor will be responsible for providing Quantity Surveying services to the appropriate high standard from inception through to completion. Provide support and advice to a team of surveyors ensuring clients receive professional advice. This will give you the chance to work alongside an experienced team of surveying professionals and provide a full range of services to a number of development projects. As part of this team, you will be responsible for a number of duties to ensure we provide a comprehensive surveying services to our clients, including:

The Role:

Prepare feasibility studies, preliminary estimates, cost plans, databases, tenders and provide advice on the economics of design at the early stages of a project and the use of whole life costing techniques.
Responsible for the preparation of high quality tender documentation.
Undertaking pricing documentation during tender period.
Examine and analyse tenders and negotiate contract sums, preparation of cost breakdowns and initial cost profile.
Utilise project management techniques to manage resources effectively to ensure all commissions are completed to agreed targets.
Apply and report on the principles of risk management.
Control all post contract procedures, assist Contract Administrators in the preparation of relevant post contract variations and certificates under the contract.
Prepare final accounts, obtaining the agreement of the contractor and manage audit procedures.
Build strong and long term relationships with key stakeholders, monitoring and acting upon feedback.

Our Successful Candidate:

Professional membership of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors and be working or prepared to work towards Chartered status
Bachelor's Degree or equivalent in a related discipline
Holds a current site card or is prepared to immediately attain
Extensive experience in a similar or related role
Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office Suite
Excellent numeracy and analytical skills
Knowledge of common construction contracts i.e. NEC3, BCT
Familiar with relevant construction, health and safety legislation and risks and hazards associated with asbestos
