Newmedica are one of the leading providers of NHS ophthalmology services in England, providing outpatients appointments, diagnostic testing and eye surgery. We aim to change lives through better sight and eye health.

Role overview
We are looking for a new Administrator to join our Leeds site. This role will be either 24 hours (3 days) or 32 hours (4 days) per week - including weekends on a rota basis.

As an Administrator, you would be responsible for ensuring that clinics are set up, that patient appointments are fully utilised and that appointment outcomes are recorded and filed. You will be managing the accuracy of all patient data including liaising with GP surgeries, clinics and patients and ensuring that Newmedica’s electronic patient record is up-to-date.

Administrators are also the central point of contact for all telephone queries from both patients and clinic staff.
Our coordinators will have a friendly and accessible personal manner, and be able to deliver an effective administrative service to the clinic. They will be able to work within small teams to maintain and enhance processes to maximise quality and efficiency.

They will work without direct supervision whilst maintaining an efficient professional manner assisting in the booking of appointments in a timely manner as per the correct pathways; ensure operational and clinical governance protocols are maintained; healthcare and risk management standards are met whilst supporting the service and driving forward efficiency improvements.

What skills and experience do I need?
We’ll provide training so experience isn’t always needed, but the following things will be advantageous:

Experience of working under own initiative
Previous experience in a customer or patient facing role
Experience in a busy administrative role
A competent user of all Office 365 programmes
Tech savvy and comfortable working on new systems e.g. patient record systems
A good phone manner
An excellent grasp of the English language both verbally and in written format
A good team player – happy to jump in and support others when required

A salary of £16,785.80 (24 hours) or £22,380.80 (32 hours)
