Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Electrical Maintenance Engineer to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing electrical systems and equipment across our facilities. This role offers an excellent opportunity to utilise your technical expertise in a dynamic environment, ensuring operational efficiency and safety. The position is paid and suitable for individuals with a strong background in electrical and mechanical maintenance, with leadership qualities and customer service skills being highly desirable.

Duties

Conduct routine inspections and preventative maintenance on electrical systems and machinery to minimise downtime.
Troubleshoot electrical faults using schematics, wiring diagrams, and diagnostic tools.
Repair or replace faulty components, including wiring, motors, sensors, and control panels.
Programme and modify programmable logic controllers (PLCs) to optimise system performance.
Perform welding tasks as required for repairs or modifications of equipment.
Read and interpret technical schematics to facilitate accurate maintenance procedures.
Supervise junior technicians or apprentices during maintenance activities, providing guidance and training where necessary.
Ensure all work complies with health and safety regulations, maintaining a safe working environment at all times.
Assist in the installation of new electrical systems or upgrades to existing infrastructure.
Maintain detailed records of maintenance activities, repairs, and inspections for compliance purposes.

Qualifications

Proven experience in electrical maintenance within industrial or manufacturing settings.
Strong knowledge of electrical systems, schematics, and wiring diagrams.
Proficiency in programming PLCs and troubleshooting automation controls.
Skilled in welding techniques with relevant certification preferred.
Mechanical knowledge to support integrated maintenance tasks.
Experience supervising or leading teams is advantageous.
Excellent communication skills in English, both written and verbal.
Demonstrated customer service orientation with the ability to work collaboratively across departments.
Relevant qualifications such as City & Guilds or NVQ in Electrical Engineering or equivalent recognised certifications are essential.
