Waking Night Support Worker

Salary: £27,219 - £29,951

About the Role

This is much more than a care job.

It's about helping children and young people feel safe, supported, and secure throughout the night. You'll play a vital role in maintaining a calm and nurturing environment, ensuring the wellbeing of young people while promoting stability, routine, and positive outcomes.

As a Waking Night Support Worker, you'll help create a safe, stable, and caring home environment where children and young people can thrive.

Shift Pattern

4 on, 4 off rolling rota

Working waking night shifts, you'll provide consistent overnight support, monitoring and responding to the needs of young people throughout the night while ensuring the home remains safe and well maintained.

What You'll Be Doing

Providing overnight support and supervision in a residential setting
Promoting a safe, secure, and nurturing environment during the night
Carrying out regular welfare checks and responding to individual needs
Supporting young people who may experience anxiety, sleep difficulties, or emotional distress
Recording and reporting any incidents, observations, or concerns
Completing household tasks and preparing the home for the day team
Working closely with colleagues to ensure continuity of care and support
Maintaining professional boundaries while building positive and trusting relationships

No Two Nights Are The Same

While some nights may be quiet and routine, others may involve providing emotional support, responding to incidents, supporting young people through difficult moments, or helping maintain a calm and reassuring environment.

Your presence can make a significant difference, helping young people feel safe, valued, and supported during vulnerable times.
