Bury Council Leisure Facilities (including Radcliffe Hub) Bury Leisure is looking to recruit 6 candidates to work as Gym instructors on a permanent basis with 4 positions on a rota pattern including evenings and weekend and 2 annualised hours basis to cover when required. Rota's and working locations to be confirmed for all roles.

As a Gym Instructor for Bury Council Leisure, you'll be responsible for delivering safe, inclusive and inspiring fitness experiences that genuinely encourage active living for all our residents and visitors.
This is a role that blends expert knowledge in exercise instruction with outstanding customer service, health promotion and genuine community engagement. You'll work with an incredibly diverse range of people from first-time gym goers to experienced athletes, from exercise referral clients to older adults and your ability to connect with, motivate and support them all will be what sets you apart.
You won't just be showing people how to use equipment. You'll be changing the relationship people have with their own health and that's an extraordinary thing to do for a living.
We're looking for a qualified fitness professional with a genuine passion for helping people someone who brings energy, expertise and empathy to every session they deliver. Ideally with:

Level 3 Personal Trainer qualification this is a firm requirement for the role

A current Emergency at Work First Aid qualification.

Experience of working in a health and fitness facility.

Understanding of sales processes and the ability to support membership and programme growth.

Awareness of up-to-date trends in the health and fitness industry.

An awareness of safeguarding responsibilities in a leisure environment.

Evidence of excellent customer service skills and a natural ability to connect with people of all backgrounds.

Good communication skills and able to engage effectively with a wide range of different customer groups.

A high level of personal fitness to meet the physical demands of the role.
Safeguarding: This post involves working with children, young people and vulnerable adults. All successful candidates will be subject to an enhanced DBS check and must be fully committed to safeguarding and always promoting welfare.
