About the role
We have an exciting opportunity for an individual to join our Liverpool FC team as a Specialist Grounds Person, located at our Anfield Stadium. In this role you will work as part of the grounds team, to help provide the best possible pitch standards for football.
What will you be doing?

Ensure all playing surfaces are maintained to the very highest standard and are playable at all times

Carry out daily pitch maintenance duties including mowing, aerating, line marking, divoting, chemical foliar spraying and fertilising.

Ensure that all daily maintenance work is recorded accurately and logged in accordance with Company procedures.

Be proactive in maintaining grass health and be able to identify problems such as weeds, pests, diseases and report to line manager.

Operate irrigation systems, set up irrigation programmes to match requirements. Carry out basic maintenance, report issues, oversee repairs. Understand drainage system and undersoil heating systems.

Effectively maintain all synthetic surfaces, following the required maintenance regime, ensuring hygiene and safety standards are met at all times.

Support in the completion of all end of season pitch renovation works across all sites within the necessary timeframes, to ensure that all playing surfaces are to the required standards ahead of the new season starting.

Ensure that all Club equipment is maintained and cleaned to the highest standard, escalating any equipment issues/damage to the management team where necessary.

Ensure all work areas and equipment storage areas are properly cleaned, are accessible at all times and comply with all Company Health & Safety guidelines.

Safely use all chemical and fertiliser products as required, in line with Club procedure and all relevant Health & Safety law.

Ensure that all Health & Safety responsibilities are adhered to; including goal post safety checks, proper use of all PPE, adherence to manual handling guidelines and attending regular refresher courses on all aspects of Health & Safety and industry best practice.

Safely operate a range of horticultural equipment and machinery ensuring all is maintained in accordance with routine operating requirements.

Who are we looking for?
-
Previous experience working within a grounds maintenance role, in particular within a sporting environment.

Completed NVQ level 2 in Sports Turf
-
Qualified in safe use of pesticides Pa1 and Pa6
-
Qualified to safely operate mowers, utility vehicle and tractors
-
Excellent Punctuality and Flexibility
-
Ability to demonstrate an awareness of Health and Safety
-
Ability to work in a team and independently
-
A high level of attention to detail.

Ability to maintain a high standard of work in a fast-paced, high pressure environment.

A flexible and proactive approach to work, with the ability to focus on results and continuous improvements.

An ability to effectively communicate with individuals in various roles across a team.
Desirable
-
Continuing professional development keeping abreast of current trends and practices

Qualified in the safe use of pesticides PA2
-
2 years’ experience in working in Sports grounds.

Been trained to safely operate relevant machinery such as hedge trimmers,

Been trained to maintain artificial surfaces
-
Been trained to maintain reinforced pitches
