Sales Assistant – Flexible Part-Time / Zero-Hours

Contract: Zero-hours contract to start
Days: Flexible, usually 2–3 days per week depending on business needs
Pay: £12.71 per hour
Work Location: In person

We are looking for a confident, friendly and switched-on Sales Assistant to join our natural skincare brand.

This is a flexible part-time role on a zero-hours basis to start with. We are looking for someone who can work around 2–3 days per week, with flexibility depending on shop cover and business needs.

The role would suit someone who enjoys talking to people, is confident approaching customers, and knows how to create a positive shopping experience. We need someone who is not afraid to engage with customers, recommend products, upsell, cross-sell and help increase sales in the shop.

You will often be working independently, so we need someone who can manage their own time, keep the shop clean and presentable, and take responsibility for the day-to-day running of the store during their shift.

Main Responsibilities

Greeting and engaging with customers in a friendly and confident way
Understanding customer needs and recommending suitable products
Upselling and cross-selling products where appropriate
Explaining product benefits clearly and confidently
Processing sales and handling payments
Keeping the shop clean, tidy and well-presented at all times
Restocking shelves and making sure displays look attractive
Managing your own time during quieter periods
Keeping an eye on stock levels and reporting any issues
Creating a welcoming and positive atmosphere in the shop

We Are Looking For Someone Who Is

Confident, friendly and easy to talk to
Smiley, positive and approachable
Comfortable speaking to customers and starting conversations
Sales-focused and able to spot opportunities to increase sales
Good at upselling and cross-selling
Switched on and able to think for themselves
Reliable, punctual and trustworthy
Able to work independently without constant supervision
Organised and able to manage their own time
Happy to clean, tidy and keep the shop looking its best
Positive, proactive and has a can-do attitude

Previous retail, beauty, skincare or sales experience is essential. The most important thing is that you are confident with customers, willing to learn and motivated to sell.

Full product training will be provided.
