Role Overview
As our nursery group continues to grow, we’re looking for an experienced Regional Manager to join us - someone who is just as passionate about high-quality early years education as they are about strong, effective operations.
Key Responsibilities
Educational Quality and Leadership
· Promote and facilitate collaboration within the region to share insights, strategies, and successful practices in education and development.
· Provide strategic oversight of educational quality across all settings, ensuring consistently high standards of practice aligned with the organisation’s ethos and expectations.
· Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of curriculum delivery, pedagogy and leadership through structured visits, data review and professional dialogue.
· Coach, challenge and support Nursery Managers to strengthen educational leadership and reflective practice.
· Identify patterns, strengths and areas for development across the region, driving improvement at a leadership level (rather than through direct delivery).
· Ensure educational quality remains central to operational and commercial decision-making.
People Leadership and Performance
- Line manage Nursery Managers, providing clear direction, regular supervision and performance management.
- Build leadership capacity across the region through coaching, mentoring and targeted development.
- Hold managers accountable for staff performance, conduct and wellbeing within their settings.
- Identify succession opportunities and talent across the region, supporting stability and continuity of leadership.
- Promote a positive, values-led culture that supports consistency, professionalism and collaboration.
Safeguarding, Welfare & Compliance
· Hold regional oversight of safeguarding and welfare arrangements, ensuring consistent and effective implementation of statutory requirements across all settings
· Provide assurance that policies, procedures and safer working practices are embedded and followed
· Monitor compliance through audits, reviews and visits, escalating concerns and supporting timely action where required
· Support Nursery Managers in fulfilling their safeguarding responsibilities, ensuring clear accountability and effective risk management
· Maintain oversight of regulatory compliance across the region
Commercial & Operational Performance
- Hold regional accountability for occupancy, budget performance and overall financial sustainability.
- Monitor performance data across settings, identifying trends, risks and opportunities for improvement.
- Support Nursery Managers to deliver agreed commercial objectives while maintaining educational integrity.
- Ensure operational decisions are aligned with organisational standards and long-term strategic priorities.
- Take a proactive, solutions-focused approach to managing competing demands and regional challenges.
This role is ideal for someone who:
· Has proven experience leading across multiple nursery settings.
· Enjoys coaching and mentoring Nursery Managers and developing confident, capable leaders.
· Is able to balance educational leadership with operational and commercial accountability.
· Values being present in settings, building relationships and leading with positivity.
· Is happy to travel across Worcestershire, Wiltshire and surrounding areas, as our group grows.
