Multi-Skilled Handyman / Painter & Decorator – Freelance Project Work (London)
We are a growing property maintenance and decorating company based in London, looking for an experienced multi-skilled handyman with strong painting and decorating skills to join us on a freelance, project-by-project basis.
We have a steady flow of work throughout the year and are looking for someone reliable who enjoys variety rather than doing the same job every day. For the right person, there is excellent potential for regular ongoing work.
Current Projects
Our work is varied and currently includes:
- Exterior decorating, including painting façades, windows, doors and external woodwork. Some projects involve working safely from scaffolding.
- Interior decorating and property refreshes, preparing homes between tenancies, including painting, decorating, varnishing and cosmetic repairs.
- General handyman work, carrying out repairs and improvements that help bring properties back to a high standard.
What You'll Be Doing
Depending on the project, your work may include:
- Interior and exterior painting and decorating
- Preparing surfaces (filling, sanding and making good)
- Varnishing and finishing timber
- Hanging shelves, mirrors, curtain poles, blinds and pictures
- Light carpentry, including shelving and small repairs
- Flat-pack furniture assembly
- Replacing silicone and carrying out grout refreshes
- Fitting bath panels and completing other cosmetic bathroom repairs
- Replacing door furniture, handles and other fixtures
- General handyman repairs and property maintenance
- Working independently or alongside other members of our team
- Leaving every job clean, tidy and completed to a high standard
What We're Looking For
We're looking for someone who:
- Has proven experience as a handyman with strong painting and decorating skills.
- Is confident carrying out both interior and exterior decorating work.
- Has practical carpentry and general maintenance skills.
- Takes pride in producing high-quality work with excellent attention to detail.
- Can work independently, solve problems on site and use their initiative.
- Is reliable, punctual and professional with good communication skills (English required).
- Has their own basic tools.
- A driving licence and own transport are a plus, but not essential.
Work Locations
Most of our projects are based in Central and West London, including Kensington, Chelsea, Fulham, Putney, Maida Vale, Battersea and Clapham.
What We Offer
- £20.00–£30.00 per hour, depending on experience.
