Overview
Salary: From £19,796 per annum (21 hours per week, 0.6 FTE), equivalent to a full-time salary of £32,994–£36,950.
We are looking for a relationship-focused professional to develop and maintain a network of employer and community partners that support learner progression. The successful candidate will coordinate work placements, promote volunteering opportunities and strengthen employer engagement to create pathways into employment for learners from diverse and underrepresented communities.
Aims of the post
- To develop and maintain relationships with employers, schools, nurseries, care providers, community organisations and other partners in order to create opportunities for learners.
- To increase progression opportunities for ELATT learners through employer engagement activities, including access to vacancies, recruitment opportunities, volunteering opportunities, work placements and industry insight.
- To coordinate work placements for learners enrolled on ELATT vocational programmes, with a particular focus on qualifications where work placements are a mandatory part of assessment.
- To support learners to access meaningful volunteering opportunities which enhance employability skills, confidence, sector knowledge and progression into employment.
- To act as a key link between learners, tutors, employability advisors and employers to ensure successful placements and progression outcomes.
- Proven experience in mentoring or supporting individuals in educational or employment settings.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Excellent communication skills in English, both written and verbal, with the ability to engage diverse audiences.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Knowledge of IT systems relevant to tracking placements and participant data.
- Customer service orientation with a positive attitude towards building partnerships.
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team environment.
Key Performance Indicators
- Development of 15 active employer and placement partners in the first year, with active partnerships defined as employers or organisations that support ELATT through placements, volunteering opportunities, vacancy sharing, recruitment activities, curriculum input, guest speaking, mock interviews, workplace visits or sector insights
- Increased progression into employment
- Development and maintenance of a network of active employer and placement partners.
- Increased employer sharing of vacancies, recruitment opportunities and progression routes.
- Successful placement of learners requiring mandatory work placements as part of their qualification.

Responsibilities of the post
- To build a sustainable network of active employer and placement partners able to support learner progression.
- To work towards agreed annual targets for active employer and placement partnerships, including partners who can offer placements, volunteering, vacancy sharing, recruitment activities or sector insight for learners.
- To undertake employer visits and maintain regular communication with employer partners. To encourage employers to advertise vacancies, apprenticeships and progression opportunities to ELATT learners.
- To identify opportunities for employer involvement in curriculum activities, including guest speakers, industry talks, mock interviews, workplace visits and recruitment events.
- To maintain an up-to-date database of employer contacts, opportunities and partnership activity.
- To coordinate work placements for learners enrolled on vocational programmes, prioritising learners whose qualifications require mandatory placements.
- To meet learners individually to identify placement requirements, availability, support needs, career goals and preferred travel locations.
- To source suitable placement opportunities in Early Years, Education, Health and Social Care and other relevant sectors.
- To negotiate placement opportunities with employers and placement providers.
- To coordinate placement starts and support successful completion of placement requirements.
- To maintain accurate records of placement activity, attendance, completion and outcomes.
- To liaise with tutors and curriculum managers regarding placement progress and qualification requirements.
- To support the resolution of issues arising during placements.
- To identify, develop and maintain relationships with employers, schools, nurseries, care providers, community organisations and other relevant partners.
- To promote ELATT as a trusted partner for workforce development, volunteering, work placements and recruitment.
- To support vocational learners to access volunteering opportunities relevant to their career goals and chosen sector.
- To promote volunteering as a route to developing workplace skills, experience and employment readiness.
- To support learners to progress from volunteering into employment, apprenticeships or further learning opportunities where appropriate.
- To work alongside Employability Advisors to ensure learners are prepared for placements and volunteering opportunities, including referral processes where required.
- To contribute towards learner progression and employment outcome targets.
- To maintain accurate records and produce reports relating to placements, volunteering, employer engagement and learner progression.
- To collect employer feedback, learner feedback and case studies demonstrating impact.
- To contribute to quality improvement activities and contractual reporting requirements.
- To provide information to managers in line with contractual requirements and support external and internal audit requirements.
- To liaise with relevant external networks to ensure ELATT service delivery remains in line with best practice.
- To take an active role in developing a strong culture of teamwork at all levels of the organisation.

Person Specification
Essential:
- Experience of working with employers, community organisations or external partners to create job opportunities for learners, jobseekers or volunteers. (F,I)

- Experience of working with adults from diverse backgrounds, including those facing barriers to employment. (F,I)

Additional requirements
The postholder will:
- Carry out duties at all times in such a way as to safeguard and promote the welfare of children and young people and to follow the company's safeguarding policy and procedures.
