Full job description

We are seeking an organised, personable Receptionist to join our team at Midland Veterinary Surgery in Leyton, East London on a part time basis.

Midland Vets is a long-established, RCVS-accredited small animal practice based in Leyton, East London. Established in the 1970s, we have built a strong reputation for delivering high-quality first opinion care within our local community.

Our practice is well-equipped with a laboratory suite, theatre, radiography, dental x-ray, and three consulting rooms, enabling us to provide a comprehensive service to our patients. Our friendly and dedicated team includes 6 Veterinary Surgeons, Registered Veterinary Nurses, care assistants, a reception team, and a Practice Manager, all working collaboratively to deliver the highest standards of care.

Well-equipped facilities including laboratory suite, theatre, radiography, dental x-ray, and three consulting rooms

Supported by a visiting ultrasonographer and certificate-holding surgeon for more complex cases

How You’ll Make a Difference

As a Receptionist, you will be the first point of contact for clients, playing a key role in delivering a welcoming, professional and compassionate experience at every interaction.

You’ll support the smooth running of the practice by managing appointments, handling enquiries, supporting client communications and working closely with clinical and non-clinical colleagues to ensure a positive client and patient journey.

Working Pattern

24 hours per week

Monday – Friday, shifts between 7.45am - 7:30pm

1 in 3 Saturday mornings

No OOH or Sundays.

Open to flexibility requests.

Key Responsibilities

Client care, being the first point of contact for them as part of the front of house team

Phone call handling including booking appointments

Admit duties

Overseeing the smooth running of the reception area
