Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Catering Manager to oversee all aspects of a catering operation within a primary school. The successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating food preparation, supervising staff, and ensuring exceptional service.

This role offers an exciting opportunity for a professional with a strong background in school contract catering, able to lead a team and uphold the highest standards of food safety and customer satisfaction.

Responsibilities

Plan, organise, and oversee the catering service of a primary school.
Supervise the catering team to ensure efficient workflow and excellent service.
Coordinate food preparation and cooking processes, ensuring quality standards are met consistently.
Manage inventory levels, order supplies, and ensure proper storage in compliance with food safety regulations.
Develop exciting and vibrant menus for the students, considering dietary requirements and preferences.
Maintain health and safety standards across all catering activities, including food safety protocols.
Monitor service delivery
Train new staff members and provide ongoing leadership to foster a motivated team environment.

Skills

Proven experience in food preparation, cooking, and kitchen management within a school environment.
Supervising experience with strong team management skills.
Extensive knowledge of food safety standards and food production processes.
Excellent organisational skills
Leadership qualities with the ability to motivate and guide staff effectively.
Exceptional communication skills to liaise effectively with clients, staff, and suppliers.
Ability to work under pressure whilst maintaining attention to detail in fast-paced environments. This role is ideal for a passionate professional eager to lead a vibrant catering team while delivering an outstanding culinary experience.

An enhanced DBS check will be applied for and the offer is subject to an enhanced DBS and satisfactory references
