We have an exciting opportunity for an innovative content creator and communicator to join our small, friendly internal communications team.

This is a creative, hands-on role for someone who enjoys turning ideas into engaging content, can pick up new work quickly and is comfortable working in a fast-paced environment.

Youll help us develop an internal communications offer for staff that has a slick, consumer-level look and feel, using your creativity, judgement and can-do approach to make our channels more engaging and effective for our busy workforce.

This role will be based in Manchester, but were looking for someone who is excited by the opportunity to build relationships across our office locations and get to know people quickly.

Job description

As a corporate content producer youll write effective and engaging copy for our internal communications channels, helping important messages cut through to a busy workforce. Youll also be using your digital, design, video editing and storytelling skills in creative ways to communicate our strategic priorities and mission clearly and effectively.

Our team is passionate about delivering great internal communications. Youll be essential to this and will enjoy trying new things, testing ideas and learning from what works.

This role would suit someone who is proactive, curious and comfortable taking an idea from concept through to delivery. Youll need to use your initiative, make sensible recommendations and be able to run with a brief while keeping others informed.

Youll play an important role in supporting our culture and strengthening connections between our London and Manchester offices. Youll be confident in making connections with other colleagues, and help us spot great staff stories that we can share with the department.

Taking a data-driven approach, youll help us understand what our audience is thinking, what they need and how our communications can support them.

Youll have strong graphic design and video editing skills using tools such as Canva, Genially, Adobe Photoshop and Premiere Pro. Experience setting up in-person and hybrid events would be an advantage but a willingness to learn these skills is essential.

Excellent organisation skills are a must. Youll work on regular products for our senior leaders which will require strong workflow management, good judgement, attention to detail and the ability to liaise with multiple stakeholders.

Youll be motivated, creative and willing to get stuck in. In return, youll be given the opportunity to shape how we do internal communications at DCMS and be fully supported in developing your communications skills and role.

Person specification

The ideal candidate would have the following key skills and experience, please note that desirable skills will only be used in the event of tied candidates:

Essentail requirements:

Able to pick up new areas of work quickly, use your initiative and make sensible recommendations with strong judgement.

Experienced in graphic design, video recording and editing, with experience using tools such as Canva, Genially, Photoshop, Premiere Pro or similar

Desirable Skills:

Experience managing audio and visual equipment for hybrid meetings or events
Confident using content management systems like an intranet and experience of Mailchimp or other email marketing platforms
Experience using data analytics software like Data Studio or similar.

This vacancy is using Success Profiles , and will assess your Behaviours, Strengths, Experience and Technical skills.
