People & Operations Coordinator

Manchester | £33,000 - £36,000 (DOE)

We’re looking for an organised, proactive and people-focused People & Operations Coordinator to join Mis-Sold Expert and play a key role in keeping our growing Manchester team running smoothly.

Mis-Sold Expert is growing quickly, operating in one of the UK's biggest consumer finance claims opportunities. Our teams are energetic, ambitious and driven to deliver great results for our customers — and we’re looking for someone who can help create an environment where our people can do their best work.

The Role

You’ll be the person who owns the day-to-day HR operations and helps keep the people and operational side of the business moving.

No two days will look exactly the same. One day you could be onboarding a new starter and setting up their training plan, or coordinating a return to work meeting and updating absence records; the next you could be organising a team event, coordinating office suppliers or supporting the leadership team. It’s a role that requires someone who is naturally organised, enjoys taking ownership and isn’t afraid to roll up their sleeves and get things done.

Core Responsibilities

People & HR Operations

Own the end-to-end onboarding process for new starters, including contracts, right to work checks, system access and induction schedules
Coordinate new starter training plans, working with managers to make sure induction milestones and mandatory training are completed on time
Manage the probation process, including scheduling review meetings, tracking key dates and supporting managers with documentation and outcomes
Monitor and record employee absence, maintaining accurate trackers and flagging patterns or triggers to managers in line with company policy
Coordinate return to work meetings following absence, making sure documentation is completed and any support needs are followed up
Maintain accurate, up-to-date people records, contracts and documentation on the HR system
Act as a first point of contact for managers and employees on HR policies, processes and queries, escalating more complex employee relations issues where needed
Support wider HR processes including family leave, contract changes and the leavers process, including exit interviews and offboarding
Support internal communications and team updates
Help create a positive, energetic and inclusive office culture
Support employee engagement initiatives and company-wide activities

Leadership & Executive Support

Provide general administrative support to the leadership team
Coordinate meetings, diaries and ad-hoc requests where required
Support internal projects and operational initiatives
Take ownership of ad-hoc tasks and make sure they get followed through
Help keep priorities organised in a fast-moving environment

Office & Operations

Coordinate office supplies, equipment and facilities
Help maintain a professional, organised and welcoming workingenvironment
Support office events, meetings and team days
Identify opportunities to improve how the office operates
Act as a key point of contact for day-to-day office queries
Help ensure the team has everything they need to work effectively

About You

We’re looking for someone who is naturally organised, dependable and enjoys making things happen.

You’ll probably be someone who:

Is highly organised with excellent attention to detail
Takes ownership rather than waiting to be asked
Can manage multiple priorities in a busy environment
Is confident communicating with people at all levels
Has a friendly, approachable and helpful personality
Is comfortable working independently and using initiative
Enjoys working in a fast-paced, ambitious environment
Has some understanding of core HR processes, such as onboarding, absence management or probations – or is keen to build this

Previous experience in HR administration or coordination, onboarding, office management, operations or executive support would be useful, but personality, organisation and attitude are just as important. A CIPD Level 3 qualification (or working towards one) would be an advantage, but is not essential.
