The Role

We are seeking an Assistant Store Manager to co-lead our Walkden retail store. This role isn’t just about day-to-day supervision – it’s about driving performance, coaching the team, and ensuring the store runs like clockwork. From elevating customer experience to ensuring operational excellence, you’ll play a pivotal role in shaping how our customers see Specscart.

Key Responsibilities

Lead and support daily store operations: sales, customer service, order processing, and timely dispatch.
Monitor KPIs (weekly, monthly, quarterly) and implement action plans to achieve targets.
Maintain accurate inventory controls and ensure smooth stock movement.
Deliver personalised eyewear recommendations, ensuring every customer leaves delighted.
Coach, mentor, and performance-manage the team to maximise potential.
Conduct operational audits to uphold store standards, compliance, and efficiency.
Partner with the Head of Retail on initiatives to drive sales growth and enhance customer experience.

What We’re Looking For

Proven management experience in retail (Assistant Manager, Team Leader, or Supervisor level). Preferred to have an experience from optical retail, fashion, or healthcare-related sectors.
Strong understanding of retail KPIs and ability to deliver results through people and process.
Hands-on leadership style with the ability to motivate, coach, and hold teams accountable.
Commercial acumen with a customer-first mindset.
Excellent communication, organisational, and problem-solving skills.
Full-time availability, including weekends.
