Full job description

Bench Joiner

Location: SDM Joinery, NG19 0FN
Job Type: Full-Time, Permanent
Hours: Minimum 40 hours per week
Salary: Starting from £16.00 per hour, dependant on experience (negotiable)
Start Date: Immediate start available.

About the Role

We are looking for an experienced and motivated Bench Joiner to join our growing team on a full-time, permanent basis. The successful candidate will be a skilled craftsman with experience in producing high-quality bespoke joinery, working from technical drawings, and operating a variety of woodworking machinery.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone who takes pride in producing quality workmanship and is looking to develop their career within a well-established business.

Key Responsibilities

Manufacture high-quality bespoke joinery products.
Read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
Operate woodworking machinery safely and efficiently.
Work with a variety of hardwoods and laminate materials.
Ensure all work is completed to a high standard of quality and accuracy.
Maintain a clean and safe working environment.
Work independently and as part of a team to meet production deadlines.

Essential Skills & Experience

Proven experience as a Bench Joiner.
Competent in operating the following machinery:
Dim Saw
Spindle Moulder
Edge Bander
Planer
Sander
Ability to accurately work from technical drawings.
Experience working with a range of hardwoods.
Experience working with laminate materials.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work.
Good understanding of workshop health and safety practices.

Desirable Skills & Experience

While not essential, experience in the following would be advantageous:

Solid surface fabrication.
Spray finishing.

What We Offer

Full-time, permanent employment.
Minimum of 40 hours per week.
Immediate start available.
Competitive starting rate of £16.00 per hour, with opportunities for wage increases based on performance, skills, and experience.
