We are looking for an ambitious and motivated Assistant Quantity Surveyor to join our growing commercial team, supporting the successful delivery of a diverse portfolio of civil engineering and infrastructure projects across Wales.
Working alongside experienced Quantity Surveyors and Managing Quantity Surveyors, you will gain exposure to a range of high-profile schemes including:

The Opportunity
As an Assistant Quantity Surveyor, you will support the commercial management of multiple projects and frameworks, working closely with the Senior Quantity Surveyor (SQS), Quantity Surveyor (QS) and Managing Quantity Surveyor (MQS).
You will assist in ensuring projects are delivered successfully and profitably whilst developing your commercial knowledge and experience across a range of sectors.
Typical Day-to-Day Duties

Assisting the SQS and MQS with the commercial management of allocated projects.

Preparing applications for payment and supporting valuation submissions.

Supporting the preparation of Cost Value Reconciliations (CVRs) and commercial reports.

Assisting with project forecasting and cost reporting.
-
Supporting subcontract procurement activities.
-
Managing subcontractor accounts, payments and commercial documentation.
-
Assisting with change management, compensation events and variations.
-
Preparing interim valuations and supporting final account settlements
-
Collating and reviewing site records and supporting commercial audits.
-
Carrying out site visits with operational teams to understand project delivery and identify commercial opportunities or risks.

Building positive relationships with project teams, clients, subcontractors and supply chain partners.

Supporting the production of monthly commercial reports and performance reviews.

Work collaboratively with operational teams to monitor costs, progress and project risks.

Ensure compliance with company procedures and commercial governance requirements.
About You
We're interested in hearing from candidates who can demonstrate:

Previous experience as an Assistant Quantity Surveying or commercial support role within construction, civil engineering, infrastructure or rail.

Degree, HNC/HND, or working towards a qualification in Quantity Surveying, Commercial Management or a related discipline.

Strong numerical and analytical skills.

Good commercial awareness and attention to detail.

Excellent communication and relationship-building abilities.
-
A proactive approach and willingness to learn from experienced colleagues.

Good knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel.
-
Ability to work effectively within a collaborative project environment.
