Overview

**PLEASE ONLY APPLY IF YOU ARE ATTENDING COLLEGE IN SEPTEMBER FOR A CARPENTRY RELATED COURSE**

We are seeking a motivated and dedicated Carpentry Apprentice to join our construction team. This paid position offers hands-on experience in various aspects of carpentry and construction, providing an excellent foundation for a career in the building trades. The successful candidate will work under the supervision of experienced tradespeople, gaining practical skills across multiple disciplines including fabrication, assembly, and joinery. A keen interest in construction and a willingness to learn are essential for this role.

Responsibilities

Assist with the fabrication and assembly of timber structures and components using hand tools and power tools
Support the team in installing roofing, joinery, and other carpentry elements on-site
Participate in basic masonry, plumbing, electrical, and construction painting tasks as required
Handle heavy lifting safely to move materials and equipment around the site
Follow health and safety guidelines at all times to ensure a safe working environment
Maintain a clean and organised work area, ensuring tools and materials are stored correctly
Learn to interpret technical drawings, plans, and specifications under supervision
Assist with site preparation, including measuring, marking out, and cutting materials to specification

Skills

Basic knowledge of carpentry principles.
Familiarity with power tools used in construction environments
Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently
Good organisational skills with attention to detail
Willingness to learn new skills quickly and follow instructions accurately
Strong teamwork ethic with effective communication skills
Physical fitness suitable for working on-site for extended periods

This position provides valuable practical experience within the construction industry, fostering skill development across multiple trades. The ideal candidate will demonstrate enthusiasm for building crafts and a proactive attitude towards learning.

Pay: From £8.00 per hour
