Full job description

Rehabilitation Assistant / Support Worker (Melksham)

Are you a passionate and enthusiastic rehabilitation support worker?

Do you want to be part of an incredibly rewarding and person-centred approach to care?

If so, we are looking to grow Team Steps, where you will be caring for clients in their own homes and developing your skills as a rehabilitation support worker through our client specific training programmes - both online and in a bespoke classroom-based setting. When working independently with one of our clients, you will never be without assistance from us - thanks to our office team, who run a 24/7 on-call service.

Our client is a professional working gentleman who was previously in the military. His support workers will be aiding with organising his working day, as well as supporting him in the gym with his rehabilitation programme, and help continue these exercises and stretches at home. The candidates will also need to drive the client to any hospital, medical or rehab appointments and follow advice and guidance that is given by professionals.

This role is based in Melksham, working on a 2-1 package, we have a variety of hours available in surrouning areas also.

We have 24-hour shifts available with this client, this will be between 08:00-22:00, sometimes including a sleep.

An element of weekend work will be required.

Competitive rates of pay £15-£19.00 per hour, plus extra for Bank Holidays.

Responsibilities will include

· Arranging and supporting to attend appointments

· General upkeep of the property

· Administering medication

· Accessing the community

. Assisting with the client's programme of rehabilitation

. Personal care where applicable

Requirements for the position

· Spinal Injury experience is preferred

· Six months health and social care experience is preferable; however, transferrable skills and personal experience will also be considered.
