Job Description

The Housing & Safety Officer Night Shift role is responsible for the night-to-night management, supervision, and safety of the accommodation. The post holder ensures the building operates safely, policies and procedures are followed, and risks within the accommodation environment are identified and appropriately managed. You will play a key role in maintaining safety and stability for residents rebuilding their lives.

This role is NOT a care role and does not meet Health & Care visa sponsorship criteria. We welcome applications from candidates with transferable experience in security, concierge, facilities management, housing, or residential environments.

Night shift Hours: 43 hours per week

Thursday 22.00-08.00

Friday 22.00-07.00

Saturday 19.00-07.00

Sunday 19.00-07.00

Consistent, predictable routine.

Pay: £28 576.08 (£12.78 per hour)

Key Accountabilities:

· To provide an on-site presence as part of the effective management and supervision of the accommodation.

· To carry out concierge and reception-style duties, managing access to the building in line with organisational procedures.

· To monitor CCTV in accordance with policy, identifying and responding to safety and security risks within the building.

· To complete regular building tours to ensure the safety, security, and appropriate use of the accommodation.

· To understand and implement the Health & Safety Policy and Fire Procedures.

· To complete and record Health & Safety inspections and associated reports.

· To identify, report, and log incidents relating to safety, security, safeguarding, or breaches of house rules.

· To represent Bridge House Mission to partner agencies and professionals visiting the building in relation to operational, access, and safety matters.

· To contribute to a safe, well-managed living environment for all residents.

· To treat residents respectfully and non-judgementally while maintaining professional boundaries at all times.

· To cover basic cooking duties if required.

Essential:

· Understanding of safeguarding, security, and risk management within a residential setting, training provided.

· Understanding of or willingness to learn about issues commonly present in supported accommodation environments, including substance misuse, mental health, offending, and homelessness.

· Ability to establish and maintain clear professional boundaries.

· Confidence and effective conflict management skills.

· Good written and verbal communication skills.

· Full UK driving licence.

Benchmark qualification and experience level preferred:

· Previous experience working in similar environments.

· Relevant professional qualification or licence demonstrating appropriate practice, such as an SIA Licence.

Pay: £28,576.08 per year
