Drew Forsyth & Co is a family-owned manufacturer of bespoke furniture, including luxury kitchens, bedrooms, cinema rooms and home offices.
We have supplied furniture throughout the UK for nearly 60 years. As the company continues to grow, we are looking for someone to lead our furniture spraying and finishing department.
This is a hands-on role leading a small team of three to four people. You will also help train and develop a young apprentice.
You may already be leading a paint or finishing department, or you might be an experienced furniture sprayer who is ready to take the next step into a leadership role.
What you will be doing
- Organising the daily workload within the finishing department.
- Working alongside the team to prepare, spray and finish bespoke furniture.
- Making sure finished work meets the required quality standards.
- Supporting, training and developing the people within your team.
- Helping to solve problems and keep work moving through the department.
- Looking for better ways of working and helping to put improvements into place.
- Working with other departments to make sure furniture is completed on time.
What we are looking for
You will need:
- Experience in furniture spraying, paint finishing or a similar environment.
- A good eye for detail and high standards of workmanship.
- The confidence to organise and support a small team.
- A willingness to train and develop less-experienced team members.
- An open mind towards new ideas and different ways of working.
- A willingness to get involved in continuous improvement.
- The flexibility to work as part of the wider factory team.
Previous management experience would be useful, but it is not essential if you are an experienced finisher with the right attitude and the potential to lead others.
What we offer
- A stable, long-term position within a growing family business.
- The freedom and influence to make positive changes within your department.
- A workplace where good ideas and suggestions are listened to.
- Guidence and mentorship for management & team leadership skills.
- Fully funded training relevant to your role and future development.
- Opportunities to develop your skills and progress within the company.
- 40 hour permanent contract with long term security.
How to apply
Please send us your CV through Indeed. If you do not have an up-to-date CV, you can instead send us a brief introduction explaining your experience and why the role interests you.
We will initially arrange an informal telephone conversation. Suitable applicants will then be invited to visit the factory, meet the team and attend an in-person interview.
As attention to detail is important in this role, we also ask applicants to complete a short 10-minute test:
