Customs Clearance Agent (also known as Customs Broker, Customs Officer, or Customs Declarations Administrator)

C4 Logistics, Tile Hill, Coventry (CV4) | £33,000–£37,000 DOE | Full-time, permanent, in-office

About the role
C4 Logistics has been delivering time-critical transport and customs clearance for over 20 years. We're growing our in-house customs team and hiring an experienced Customs Clearance Agent to work on road, air, and multi-modal declarations for our UK and European clients.

You'll be joining an established customs team, not a lone customs seat wedged into a freight desk. If you take customs seriously as a career and want to work alongside other specialists, this is that kind of team.

What you'll do

Prepare and submit import and export declarations
Ensure compliance with HMRC regulations and manage duty liabilities accurately
Handle Transit (T1/T2), CFSP, and specialist customs procedures where required
Liaise with customers, carriers, HMRC, and community systems (CDS, CNS, Destin8) to resolve clearance issues quickly

What we're looking for

2+ years' hands-on customs clearance experience
Solid working knowledge of UK and EU customs requirements post-Brexit
Familiarity with customs procedure codes and specialist procedures, CFSP and Transit are a real plus
Comfort across the main UK customs systems (CDS, CNS, Destin8, Sequoia, CONEX)

Shift pattern
Customs work supports transport that runs across time zones. This role operates a three-week rotation, Monday–Friday, no weekends:

Week 1: 07:00–16:00
Week 2: 08:30–17:30
Week 3: 10:00–19:00

The rotation gives the team full coverage of European and international freight movements, you will always have colleagues on either side of your shift.

£33,000–£37,000 basic, depending on experience
22 days holiday + 8 bank holidays, plus the option to buy additional days
