Full job description

Overview
We are a dynamic, forward-thinking GP Practice, with an opportunity for a full-time Patient Services Advisor. The roll can be over a four or five day working week. Working alongside GP's, Pharmacists, Paramedics, Nurses, Social Prescribers, Physiotherapists, Midwives and Phlebotomists, you will be the first contact for patients, providing advice and signposting them to the most appropriate service.

Responsibilities

Greet patients warmly and assist with check-in procedures efficiently
Manage appointment scheduling, cancellations, and rescheduling using our administrative systems
Answer patient enquiries via phone, email, and in person with professionalism and empathy
Maintain accurate patient records in compliance with data protection regulations
Coordinate communication between patients, healthcare providers, and other departments
Ensure the waiting area remains tidy and welcoming at all times
Assist with administrative tasks such as filing, data entry, and correspondence as required

Skills

Proven office experience, demonstrating organisational proficiency and attention to detail
Previous administrative experience within a healthcare or similar environment is desirable
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with a friendly demeanour
Strong organisational abilities to manage multiple tasks efficiently
Ability to handle sensitive information discreetly and maintain confidentiality
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite or similar office software programmes
Ability to remain calm under pressure and provide compassionate customer service

This role is ideal for individuals who are organised, empathetic, and eager to contribute positively to patient care. The position provides valuable experience within the healthcare sector while fostering professional development in a supportive environment.
