Overview

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Kitchen Leader to oversee daily kitchen operations within our hospitality establishment. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, extensive culinary knowledge, and a passion for delivering exceptional food and service. This role offers an exciting opportunity to manage a talented team, ensure food safety standards are upheld, and contribute to the overall success of our restaurant or hotel. The Kitchen Leader will be instrumental in maintaining high-quality food production while fostering a positive working environment.

Responsibilities

Lead and supervise kitchen staff to ensure efficient food preparation and service.
Oversee all aspects of food production, ensuring dishes meet quality standards and presentation expectations.
Manage daily kitchen operations, including scheduling, training, and motivating team members.
Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and maintain high standards of hygiene and cleanliness.
Assist in menu planning and development, incorporating innovative culinary techniques where appropriate.
Monitor inventory levels, place orders for supplies, and manage stock control to minimise waste.
Coordinate with front-of-house staff to ensure smooth service delivery.
Uphold health and safety policies within the kitchen environment at all times.
Provide hands-on support during busy periods, including food preparation and cooking as needed.
Foster a positive team atmosphere that encourages professional growth and teamwork.

Requirements

Proven experience in food preparation, cooking, and supervising within a restaurant or hotel setting.
Strong leadership qualities with previous team management experience in a culinary environment.
Extensive knowledge of food safety standards and best practices in food production.
Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
Familiarity with restaurant operations, hospitality standards, and customer service principles.
Demonstrated ability to work under pressure while maintaining attention to detail.
Good communication skills to effectively lead staff and liaise with other departments.
Previous experience in culinary roles such as chef or cook is highly desirable; barista or serving experience is a plus.
A passion for culinary arts combined with a commitment to delivering outstanding guest experiences.
