Do you enjoy working in a hands-on role where every day is different?
Are you organised, customer-focused and passionate about making a difference in your local community?
Can you confidently drive, coordinate logistics, manage stock and build positive relationships with customers, volunteers and supporters?
Working as part of the Furniture Hub team within our Retail Department, you'll play a vital role in supporting the day-to-day operation of our warehouse and helping us maximise income to support the work of Dr Kershaw's Hospice. From collecting and delivering donated furniture to coordinating stock distribution across our retail shops, you'll be at the heart of a service that helps transform generous donations into essential funding for patient care. To achieve all this, we need enthusiastic, self-motivated and pro-active people who are focused, with an attention to detail and who share our values.
We're looking for someone who can:
· Efficiently organise and manage stock, ensuring goods are stored safely and distributed to the right locations.
· Provide excellent customer service when collecting donations from supporters and delivering items to customers and retail shops.
· Safely handle and move furniture and other stock items, supporting the loading and unloading of vehicles.
· Maintain accurate records and documentation relating to collections, deliveries and stock movements.
· Coordinate volunteer drivers, ensuring collections and deliveries are completed efficiently and professionally.
· Monitor vehicle safety and compliance, carrying out routine checks and reporting any maintenance requirements.
· Work collaboratively with colleagues and volunteers to support the success of the Furniture Hub and wider Hospice.
· Step up and take responsibility when required, including deputising for the Furniture Hub Manager during periods of absence.
· Act as an ambassador for Dr Kershaw's Hospice, promoting our values and supporting our mission within the local community.
We'd particularly like to hear from you if you can answer "yes" to some of the following questions:
· Do you have experience working in a warehouse, logistics, retail or distribution environment?
· Are you confident driving and able to meet our vehicle insurance requirements?
· Can you prioritise competing demands and remain organised in a busy environment?
· Do you enjoy meeting people and providing excellent customer service?
· Are you comfortable working as part of a team while also using your own initiative?
· Can you build positive relationships with colleagues, volunteers, donors and customers?
· Are you able to carry out regular moving and handling activities as part of a physically active role?
· Do you take pride in delivering a reliable, professional and efficient service?
· Can you adapt to changing priorities, problem solve and think creatively?
