Full job description

Location: Ottery St Mary, Devon, EX11 1LZ

Develop your marketing career with one of the South West’s leading independent garden centre groups.

We’re looking for an enthusiastic, organised and creative Marketing Assistant to join our friendly marketing team.

This is a fantastic opportunity to gain hands-on experience across every area of marketing while helping deliver campaigns that inspire thousands of customers across our eight garden centres.

If you’re someone who enjoys variety, loves being organised and wants to build your career in marketing, we’d love to hear from you.

Requirements

What You’ll Be Doing

Producing and distributing point of sale.
Updating website pages and blogs.
Supporting social media.
Assisting with email marketing.
Coordinating branch marketing requests.
Responding to customer enquiries.
Supporting event management.
Working with designers and suppliers.
Taking photographs and short videos.

What We’re Looking For

We’re looking for someone who is:

Organised and enthusiastic.
A confident communicator.
Comfortable using Microsoft Office.
Able to write clearly and professionally.
Experienced with basic Photoshop editing.
Keen to learn new marketing skills.
A great team player.
Happy working in a busy environment.
WordPress experience is desirable but not essential, as training can be provided.

Working at Otter

Our marketing team works closely together every day. Everyone supports each other and gets involved wherever needed, making this a fantastic opportunity to experience many different areas of marketing.

Hours

Hours: Full Time (39 hours per week)

Applications from candidates seeking four days per week will also be considered.

Contract: Fixed-Term (12 months)

Start Date: 21 September 2026
