Furniture Fitter

Self-employed | Part-time or full-time | Based in Cornwall

Cornish Cabinet & Joinery Co are a high end fitted furniture manufacturer looking to expand our team. We specialise in bespoke projects covering every room of the house. The majority of our products are in a painted, veneer, or solid wood finish. Our customers are discerning and come to us for a premium quality product, produced in Cornwall, and the standard of our work is high.

We are now seeking an experienced Furniture Fitter to join our installation team.

About the Role

We are looking for a Cabinet Fitter with at least five years' experience in fitting a variety of fully fitted furniture: bedroom wardrobes, kitchens, lounge, library, and multimedia. Many of our projects include in-frame doors, so experience in fitting these to a high standard is a must. As the final person to handle each project on site, you play a crucial role in delivering the level of finish our clients expect.

We operate a dry-fit service only — you will not be expected to carry out plumbing, electrical or decorating work, although experience in these areas is an advantage.

This role offers the opportunity to work on premium, design-led projects for a respected local maker of bespoke furniture, within a skilled team where precision, professionalism and craft are central to every job.

Required Skills & Experience

● Minimum 5 years experience fitting bespoke or high-end fitted furniture & cabinetry

● Confident fitting in-frame cabinetry

● Excellent finishing skills and attention to detail

● Professional, presentable and comfortable in client-facing environments

● Must have own tools and van

Desirable (Not Essential) Skills

● Basic electrical, plumbing or decorating knowledge

● Ability to problem-solve on site

● Experience working with painted, veneered and solid timber furniture

This position is offered on a self-employed basis, with both part-time and full-time work available depending on workload and experience.
