What youll do
As a School Crossing Patrol Officer, youll be a familiar and trusted presence outside local schools, helping children, parents and other pedestrians cross the road safely.

Your responsibilities will include:

Supervising school crossings and ensuring they operate safely and effectively.
Helping children, families and members of the public cross roads safely.
Following road safety procedures and Highway Code guidance.
Providing a welcoming, professional and customer-focused service.
Being a positive and reassuring presence within the local community.

Who you are
Were looking for someone who is dependable, approachable and enjoys interacting with people of all ages.

You will:

Be punctual, reliable and committed.
Enjoy working independently and using your own initiative.
Be confident communicating with children, parents and the wider public.
Be comfortable working outdoors throughout the year and in all weather conditions.
Be able to stand roadside for periods of time and maintain good awareness of road safety.

You dont need previous experience as a School Crossing Patrol Officer. Well provide the training and support you need to succeed.

Basic literacy and numeracy skills.
Good road awareness and common sense.
The ability to supervise children and adults safely.

Current Vacancy

Central Avenue / Cowpen Lane, Billingham

10 hours per week
8.00am to 9.00am and 2.45pm to 3.45pm
Term Time Only plus 2 days
Actual salary: £5,700
