Sous Chef Job Overview

We are seeking a talented, passionate, and motivated Sous Chef to join our culinary team. In this key leadership role, you will support the Head Chef in overseeing daily kitchen operations, ensuring the highest standards of food quality, presentation, hygiene, and service are consistently achieved.

As Sous Chef, you will play a vital role in leading and inspiring the kitchen team, maintaining smooth service during busy periods, and contributing creative ideas to menu development. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced culinary professional looking to develop their career within a fast-paced and dynamic hospitality environment.

Key Responsibilities

Oversee food preparation and cooking processes to ensure exceptional quality, consistency, and presentation.
Support the management and development of the kitchen team, providing guidance, training, and motivation.
Assist with inventory management, stock control, and ordering to minimise waste and maximise profitability.
Ensure full compliance with all food safety regulations, sanitation standards, and health and safety requirements.
Work closely with front-of-house teams to deliver outstanding guest experiences and seamless service.
Monitor kitchen operations during service, ensuring efficiency and high performance under pressure.
Contribute to menu planning, recipe development, and the introduction of innovative dishes.

Qualifications & Experience

Previous experience as a Sous Chef or Senior Chef de Partie within a busy restaurant, hotel, or hospitality venue.
Strong culinary knowledge and advanced food preparation and cooking skills.
Proven leadership and team management abilities with a passion for developing others.
Thorough understanding of food safety, HACCP procedures, and kitchen hygiene standards.
Experience managing stock levels, ordering supplies, and controlling food costs.
Excellent communication and organisational skills.
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment while maintaining exceptional attention to detail.
A genuine passion for food, creativity, and delivering memorable dining experiences.
