About the Role

As a Graduate Cover Supervisor, you'll:

Deliver engaging pre-planned lessons in the absence of the classroom teacher

Lead classrooms with confidence, ensuring pupils remain focused, motivated and on task

Support positive behaviour and create a productive learning environment

Encourage pupils to participate, achieve and enjoy learning

Gain experience across a range of subjects and year groups in supportive secondary schools

Build valuable classroom management skills that will give you a head start on your PGCE

Become an important part of school communities across the Vale of Glamorgan

No lesson planning or marking required—just enthusiasm, professionalism and the confidence to inspire young people.

Who We're Looking For

We're keen to hear from graduates who:

Hold (or are due to achieve) a degree in any subject

Are considering a PGCE or a long-term career in education

Are confident communicators with excellent interpersonal skills

Can think on their feet and remain calm under pressure

Are positive, reliable and adaptable

Enjoy working with young people and helping them succeed

Have experience working with children or young people (desirable but not essential)

Essential Requirements

To work in schools across Wales, successful applicants must:

Be registered with the Education Workforce Council (EWC) in the appropriate category as a School Learning Support Worker (Elementa can guide you through the registration process if required)

Hold a current Enhanced DBS Certificate registered with the DBS Update Service, or be willing to obtain one through Elementa

Have the right to work in the UK

Be committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people
