Full job description

Job Overview

We are seeking a proactive and energetic Labourer to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be instrumental in supporting various brickwork and repointing construction, and maintenance projects. Your enthusiasm and hands-on approach will help ensure that outdoor spaces are beautifully maintained, safe, and functional. This position offers an exciting opportunity to develop your skills in the building industry and site upkeep while contributing to vibrant, well-cared-for environments.

Duties

Assist with brickwork and repointing tasks such as grinding out, repointing, mixing, setting up, loading out, lifting material, collecting orders and keeping outdoor areas pristine and inviting
Operate hand tools, power tools, and machinery including excavators for digging, lifting, and site preparation activities.
Perform routine site maintenance including debris removal, surface leveling, and general cleanup to maintain safety and aesthetics
Support construction activities by assisting with material handling, site preparation, and equipment setup under supervision
Conduct regular inspections of equipment like excavators and power tools to ensure proper functioning and safety compliance
Collaborate with team members to complete projects efficiently while adhering to safety protocols and environmental standards

Skills

Practical experience in brickwork and repointing
Mechanical knowledge for operating and maintaining machinery such as excavators and other power tools
Proficiency with hand tools and power tools used in construction
Ability to follow instructions accurately while working independently or as part of a team
Basic understanding of the building industry
Previous construction experience is highly desirable for supporting diverse project needs but no essential, just willing to work hard and listen
Strong work ethic with a focus on safety, attention to detail, and physical stamina to perform manual tasks effectively
