Full job description

We are recruiting enthusiastic and reliable Matchday Safety Stewards to join our team supporting operations at both Bolton Wanderers FC (BWFC), as well as a variety of major sporting and community events, including marathons and road races.

This is an excellent opportunity for individuals looking to work in a dynamic event environment, helping to ensure the safety and enjoyment of spectators, participants, and visitors.

Key Responsibilities

Provide a visible and professional stewarding presence at football matches and events.
Assist with spectator safety and customer service.
Monitor crowd movement and help manage entry and exit points.
Direct spectators and event participants as required.
Report incidents, concerns, or safety issues to supervisors.
Assist with emergency procedures when necessary.
Represent the company in a professional and courteous manner at all times.

Essential Requirements

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Reliable, punctual, and professional attitude.
Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
Flexible availability, including evenings, weekends, and bank holidays.
Willingness to undertake and successfully complete additional training courses as required.
Ability to travel to both Bolton and Blackpool venues.
Ability to take on Level 2 spectator safety training which will be available to take on

Qualifications

No SIA Licence required.
Previous stewarding, customer service, security, or event experience is desirable but not essential as full training will be provided.

Do you have excellent communication and customer service skills?

Do you have the confidence and ability to deal with difficult situations (including those involving conflict)?
Do you have an excellent command of English, both written and verbal?
Do you have a 5 year verifiable work, education or claims history?
Do you possess a recognised stewarding qualification (NVQ Level 2 in Event Stewarding/Spectator Safety or above) or are you willing to complete additional role-related training? There will be a training cost if you do not hold this already.
