Full job description

Job Title: Panel Beater (Auto Body Repair Technician)

Job Summary:
Maldon Accident Repair Centre is seeking an experienced Panel Beater to join their ever growing team. As a Panel Beater you will be responsible for repairing damaged vehicle body panels, restoring vehicles to their original condition, and ensuring all work meets safety and quality standards.

Hours are Monday- Friday 7am-5pm, including 1 in 3 Saturdays. This will be based at our Maldon Bodyshop (company parking provided)

Key Responsibilities:

Assess vehicle damage and determine the best repair methods
Remove damaged panels and components
Repair dents, scratches, and structural damage using hand and power tools
Straighten vehicle frames and chassis when necessary
Replace or repair panels using welding, filling, and sanding techniques
Prepare surfaces for painting (priming, smoothing, masking)
Ensure all repairs meet manufacturer specifications and safety standards
Maintain a clean and safe working environment
Communicate with colleagues, estimators, and sometimes customers about repair progress

Skills and Qualifications:

Proven experience as a panel beater or in auto body repair
Level 3 Qualification is essential with up to date certification
Knowledge of vehicle structures and repair techniques
Ability to use tools such as welders, grinders, and hydraulic equipment
Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills
Physical fitness and manual dexterity
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
