Workshop Prep / Joinery Preparation Operative

Foxstow is looking for a reliable and practical person to join our busy joinery workshop in Freeland, near Woodstock.
The main part of the role will be preparing cabinetry and joinery components ready for finishing. This includes checking, sanding and preparing items to a consistently high standard before they move into our spray-finishing department.
We manufacture bespoke kitchens, wardrobes, media cabinetry, boot rooms, utility rooms, bathroom vanities and other fitted furniture, so the work is varied and there is plenty of opportunity to learn more about cabinet making and finishing over time.
The Role
Your day-to-day work will include:
- Preparing cabinetry and joinery components ready for finishing
- Sanding MDF, timber and other materials to the required standard
- Checking surfaces, edges and details before items move into finishing
- Carrying out minor filling and preparation work where required
- Helping organise and move components through the workshop
- Working closely with our cabinet makers and finishing team
- Maintaining a clean and organised working area
- Carrying out general workshop duties as required
Experience in cabinet making, joinery preparation, furniture finishing or spray finishing would be useful, but we are also interested in someone with the right attitude, a good eye for detail and a willingness to learn.

About Foxstow
Foxstow designs and manufactures bespoke kitchens and cabinetry from our workshop in Freeland, Oxfordshire.
Our designers, cabinet makers and finishing team work closely together, combining traditional skills with modern manufacturing and finishing equipment.
This role would suit someone who wants to develop a career within a growing joinery business and gain experience across different areas of cabinetry manufacture and finishing.
Workshop & Hours
We offer a clean, heated and modern workshop environment.
Working hours: Monday to Friday, 7:30am–4:30pm.
Full-time, permanent position.
Salary
£26,000–£28,000 per year, depending on experience.
