About Us

Join the Live Well Commissioning Team

We have an exciting opportunity for a motivated and talented individual to join the Live Well Commissioning Team as a Senior Commissioning Officer.

This role focuses on improving outcomes for working-age adults across Oxfordshire, including people with a learning disability, autistic people, people with physical disabilities, acquired brain injuries, mental health needs and other complex support requirements.

Do you want the opportunity to shape services, influence system change and improve outcomes for people across Oxfordshire? As a Senior Commissioning Officer, you will play a key role in commissioning, developing and improving services that support people to live well and achieve their goals.

At Oxfordshire County Council, we work closely with people with lived experience, providers, health partners and local communities to develop high-quality, sustainable services. Through the Oxfordshire Way, we are committed to prevention, strengths-based approaches, co-production and delivering better outcomes for residents.

The Live Well Commissioning Team leads a diverse portfolio of services and transformation programmes, using evidence, partnership working and innovation to shape future services and improve outcomes across Oxfordshire.

Priority consideration will be given to employees of the Thames Valley Integrated Care Board (ICB) who are formally identified as ‘at risk’, provided they meet the minimum essential criteria for the role.

About You

As a Senior Commissioning Officer, you will play an important role in delivering Live Well Commissioning priorities and supporting positive outcomes for working-age adults across Oxfordshire. The role offers a varied portfolio of work, including supporting complex cases, service development, strategic projects, commissioning activity, procurement activity and partnership working.

You will contribute to the design, development and delivery of high-quality, evidence-based services, working with people with lived experience, providers and system partners to drive improvement, manage change and deliver measurable outcomes that promote independence, wellbeing and quality of life

Experience of commissioning, service development, transformation, project delivery or partnership working within health, social care, local government or a related field.
A commitment to improving outcomes and quality of life for working-age adults, including people with a learning disability, autistic people and people with other disabilities or complex support needs.
An understanding of person-centred, strengths-based and co-produced approaches.
Strong stakeholder engagement and partnership working skills, with the ability to build effective relationships across organisations and professional groups.
Excellent communication, analytical, report writing, organisational and problem-solving skills.
The ability to manage competing priorities, work independently and deliver high-quality outcomes in a complex and fast-paced environment.

Your office base may be subject to change as we are currently transitioning between temporary and permanent office locations due to the closure of County Hall. If this is applicable to you, you will be notified, but no reimbursement will apply in respect of travel.
