As a leading charity supporting people with drug, alcohol, and mental health challenges, we operate over 80 services across England and Scotland, providing free and confidential support to more than 100,000 people each year.
WithYou in Redcar and Cleveland is a free and confidential service for people affected by drugs and alcohol. The service is part of the THRIVE partnership, an integrated substance use, domestic abuse and education/recovery support service.You will be working within a highly skilled and knowledgeable multi-disciplinary team - find out more about the service on our website.

As a Recovery Worker you will be providing support and advice to people who are experiencing difficulties due to substance misuse and domestic abuse. You will have the opportunity to complete training in both areas, and strengthen your knowledge of these key strands of our service. You will have your own caseload, working as part of our team and alongside other social care services to identify how we can help. You will develop plans with your clients to help them get their lives back to where they want them to be.
In this role you will predominantly be based in the social care buildings,, helping to screen referrals and support families who are working with children's social care teams.
You will work as part of a team with the aims of:

checking in with them and reviewing their progress

keeping accurate and timely records of your contact with them

working effectively with other social care providers e.g. Housing, to cover all aspects of their successful recovery

continuously learning and reflecting to improve the outcomes for your clients

supporting your colleagues across the service to deliver excellent care
This is a full-time role (37.5 hours per week) offered on a fixed-term contract until March 2027. There is the possibility of an extension for up to a further two years, subject to continued funding.

We’re looking for a compassionate and motivated individual, with an exceptional ability to build meaningful relationships. You will have demonstrable experience working within the health, social care, criminal justice or other specialist setting, or a clear motivation for wanting to work in the drug and alcohol sector.
You will be highly organised, have excellent communication skills, and be able to manage your time effectively. You will work collaboratively as part of a team to ensure a high-quality service is maintained. Above all, we are looking for someone who is passionate about what we do and has a positive and engaging approach to our clients and key stakeholders.
- Have attained ONC/NVQ level 3 or be willing to achieve this within 12 months
