Overview

We are seeking a friendly and organised Post Office Assistant to join our team. This role involves providing excellent customer service, managing postal transactions, and supporting the daily operations of our post office. The ideal candidate will possess strong communication skills, organisational abilities, and a proactive attitude. Multilingual capabilities, particularly in English are highly desirable to assist a customer base. This position offers an engaging environment where you can develop your skills while contributing to the community’s postal needs.

Duties

Greet customers warmly and assist with postal transactions efficiently
Handle mail sorting, processing, and delivery of parcels and letters
Provide information on postal services, products, and pricing options
Upsell additional services such as insurance or special delivery options
Maintain accurate records of transactions and manage cash register operations
Organise stock levels and ensure the shop floor remains tidy and welcoming
Answer customer enquiries via phone or in person with professionalism and courtesy
Support merchandising efforts by displaying promotional materials effectively
Assist in managing time-sensitive deliveries to ensure prompt service delivery

Requirements

Fluency in English.
Excellent communication skills with a friendly phone etiquette
Strong organisational skills with the ability to multitask efficiently
Basic maths skills for handling cash transactions accurately
Experience in retail, merchandising, or customer service is beneficial but not essential
Ability to manage time effectively during busy periods
Demonstrated organisational skills to maintain a clean and orderly workspace
A positive attitude with the ability to work well within a team and independently
