The Position
We are looking for a highly organised, proactive and commercially focused Trade Sales Coordinator to support the day-to-day running of the Trade Department and provide an excellent level of service to our trade customers.
Working across a portfolio of trade accounts, the successful candidate will be responsible for processing customer orders, managing enquiries, supporting sales opportunities and coordinating with internal departments to ensure orders are completed accurately and dispatched on time.
This is a varied role combining trade sales, customer service, account support, order administration and operational coordination. The successful candidate will be a forward thinker who can work independently, use their own initiative, and effectively prioritise and manage their workload.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and process customer orders accurately and efficiently from receipt through to dispatch.
- Liaise with trade customers by telephone and email, responding promptly and professionally to enquiries.
- Build and maintain strong, positive relationships with trade customers.
- Identify opportunities to convert customer enquiries into sales.
- Raise and process sales orders and customer invoices.
- Monitor customer balances outstanding orders and back orders.
- Liaise with the workshop to coordinate production and ensure customer deadlines are met.
- Work closely with internal departments to ensure orders progress smoothly and are dispatched on time.
- Coordinate and manage both in-house repairs and bespoke designs, keeping customers informed of progress where required.
- Check pricing, product information, and stock availability, ensuring accuracy across all customer orders.
- Produce and print product barcodes and labels as required.
- Carry out quality control checks on outgoing jewellery products.
- Build, assemble and package jewellery products as required, ensuring products meet the required quality standards.
- Prepare, package and post customer orders accurately and efficiently.
- Check stock levels and assist with monitoring product requirements and stock planning.
- Produce spreadsheets, reports and other sales and stock information as required.
- Assist with the implementation and ongoing use of company costing and sales systems.
- Support the National Sales Manager with day-to-day Trade Department activities and projects.
- Identify and resolve issues proactively, escalating where appropriate.
- Undertake any other duties and responsibilities appropriate to the role.
The successful candidate will be:
- Experienced in a sales, customer service or sales administration environment.
- Highly organised, efficient and able to manage a demanding workload.
- Proactive, commercially aware and confident using their own initiative.
- Customer-focused, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Confident in building rapport and developing effective working relationships with customers and colleagues.
- Highly accurate and methodical, with excellent attention to detail.
- Comfortable working independently as well as being a supportive member of a team.
- Highly computer literate, with good knowledge of Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
- Able to prioritise tasks and work effectively in a fast-moving environment.
- Professional, friendly, approachable and confident when dealing with customers.
- Flexible and willing to take on a varied range of responsibilities.
- Able to communicate effectively with workshop and internal teams to ensure deadlines are achieved.
