We are delighted to offer an exciting Band 6 secondment opportunity for an experienced and motivated Registered Mental Health Nurse to join our Community Mental Health Team within NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde. This role is ideal for Band 5 nurses seeking career progression or existing Band 6 nurses looking to broaden their skills and experience within a supportive community setting.
All other roles will be assessed for sponsorship eligibility in line with current Home Office requirements. NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde (NHSGGC) can only issue a Certificate of Sponsorship (CoS) where these are met.
Duration, Location, and Working Pattern:
- Location based in Abbeymill Business Centre, Mile End Mile, 12 Seedhill Road, Paisley, PA1 1JS

Full-time position (36 hours per week)

Shift pattern for this role are Monday to Friday, 09:00 - 17:00
Key responsibilities:
- Provide specialist mental health assessment, formulation, and evidence-based interventions for adults with a range of complex mental health needs.

Act as Care Coordinator under the Care Programme Approach.

Manage a defined caseload, ensuring safe prioritisation and timely intervention.

Deliver clinics (e.g., depot, physical health monitoring) and contribute to group interventions.

Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary colleagues, including primary care, social work, inpatient teams, and third-sector partners.

Offer supervision, support, and leadership to Band 5 nurses, students, and unregistered staff.

Contribute to service development, quality improvement, and audit activities.

Uphold professional and legal frameworks including NMC standards, Adult Support and Protection, and Mental Health legislation.
Knowledge, training, qualifications and/or experience required to do the job:
Essential Criteria

Registered Mental Health Nurse (RMN) NMC Registration (Part 3 or 13).

Demonstrable experience in mental health nursing at Band 6 level.

Strong assessment, risk management, and clinical decision-making skills.

Ability to work autonomously while being an effective member of a multidisciplinary team.

Excellent communication, organisational, and interpersonal skills.

Commitment to ongoing professional development and reflective practice
Desirable Criteria
- Experience working in a Community Mental Health Team.
- Evidence-based psychological approaches training (e.g., CBT skills, DBT-informed approaches).
- Mentorship / Practice Assessor qualification.
- Car driver with access to a vehicle for work purposes.
