Full job description

Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Night Senior Care Assistant to join our care home team. This vital role involves supervising and supporting care staff during night shifts, ensuring the safety, well-being, and comfort of our residents. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership qualities, excellent communication skills, and a compassionate approach to senior care. Experience in supervising care staff and familiarity with care plans are essential for success in this role. A valid driving licence is desirable to facilitate transportation needs when required.

Duties

Lead and supervise care staff during night shifts, ensuring high standards of care are maintained at all times
Oversee the implementation of individualised care plans for residents, ensuring personalised support is delivered effectively
Provide direct assistance to residents with personal care needs, medication administration, and emotional support as required
Monitor residents’ wellbeing throughout the night, responding promptly to any emergencies or concerns
Maintain accurate documentation of care activities, incidents, and observations in line with legal and organisational requirements
Communicate effectively with day staff during handovers to ensure continuity of care
Supervise and support junior staff members, providing guidance and mentorship to foster professional development
Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and company policies at all times
Assist with administrative tasks using IT systems to update records and manage schedules

Qualifications

Proven experience in senior or supervisory roles within a care home setting or senior care environment
Strong leadership skills with the ability to supervise and motivate a team during night shifts
Excellent communication skills to liaise effectively with residents, families, and team members
Knowledge of care plans, health & safety procedures, and safeguarding protocols
IT literacy for maintaining accurate records and managing documentation efficiently
Compassionate nature with a genuine interest in providing high-quality senior care
