What's the role?

We are currently recruiting for an experienced Senior Electrical engineer to join our RYBKA team in our Edinburgh or Glasgow city centre office base. Working closely with the associate, to provide leadership and management of the Engineering team.

The senior engineer will provide technical expertise and direction for complex (and non-complex) engineering projects leading on delivery from briefing through to handover. This senior role combines hands-on technical leadership, management of Engineering staff, as well as a requirement to support the learning and development of junior staff across the business. The role will require to work collaboratively with our BIM and Rybk sustainability teams to ensure our Engineering, BIM, and Sustainability services are delivered efficiently and to a consistently high standard with quality built-in to our outputs.The role includes project delivery, client engagement, team leadership, and supporting strategic growth of the consultancy.

Working Conditions - Edinburgh or Glasgow office (Hybrid: typically 3 days office, 2 days home) 37.5 hrs per week , Monday - Friday.

Key Responsibilities:

Develop technical capabilities within the team through training and knowledge sharing
Mentor a team of Engineers, Technicians, Graduates, and Trainees
Lead and manage MEP design and delivery across multiple projects.
Provide technical oversight and quality assurance for electrical systems.
Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams including Architects , C&S Engineers, Sustainability Consultants etc
Assist in Preparation of fee / bid proposals and support client presentations

What we’re looking for:

Honours / Master's degree in Engineering, or HNC with relevant career experience.
Experience in Engineer Consultancy (or similar role)
Proven track record in leading complex projects
Experience managing teams and developing staff
Experience in working on a variety of project sectors
Proficiency in carrying out calculations using technical software such as Elec OM and Dialux
Knowledge of sustainable Electrical systems including solar PV, and energy storage
Understanding of building automation, smart building technologies, and IoT integration
