Join Our Engineering Team

We are looking for an Engineering Technician to join our Engineering & Maintenance team based in Middlesbrough. We are seeking an enthusiastic and practical engineer with experience in maintaining, repairing, and improving industrial equipment and assets.

We welcome applications from individuals with an engineering background in any of the following:

· Mechanical Engineering

· Electrical Engineering

· Plant Engineering

· Marine Engineering

· Crane and Lifting Equipment Engineering

· Overhead Crane Maintenance

· Heavy Industrial Maintenance

· Manufacturing and Production Engineering

· Mobile Plant Maintenance

· Military Engineering Backgrounds

Whether you are an experienced fitter, electrician, engineer, technician, or maintenance specialist, we would like to hear from you.

The Role

Working within our Engineering & Maintenance team, you will help ensure the reliability, safety, and performance of equipment across the AV Dawson site.

Key responsibilities include:

· Carrying out planned preventative maintenance activities

· Performing reactive maintenance and repairs

· Fault finding and problem solving on a variety of equipment

· Conducting inspections and servicing activities

· Supporting continuous improvement initiatives

· Working safely and following company procedures

· Assisting with engineering projects and equipment upgrades

You will have the opportunity to work on a diverse range of equipment and assets, including:

· Cranes and lifting equipment

· Overhead cranes

· Conveyors and material handling systems

· Fixed and mobile plant

· Locomotives

· Hydraulic and pneumatic systems

· Mechanical drives and rotating equipment

· Marine and port-related assets

About You

You will ideally have:

· Experience in an engineering, maintenance, manufacturing, marine, plant, ports, logistics, or industrial environment

· Strong practical problem-solving skills

· A proactive and safety-conscious approach

· The ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team

· Good communication skills
