Business Development & Operations Manager – Care Services

Location: Alcester
Work pattern: Office-based
Salary: £42,000–£47,000 per annum, depending on experience
OTE: £50,000–£58,000+
Hours: Full-time, 40 hours per week
Monday–Friday | 8:00am–5:00pm

About the opportunity

LDA Support Ltd. are looking for an experienced, confident and commercially minded Business Development & Operations Manager to take a leading role within our growing care and staffing business.

This is an office-based role in Alcester and is not simply a business development position.

You will be responsible for the day-to-day operational leadership of the business, ensuring our people, systems, processes and resources work effectively, while also taking an active role in developing new business and driving sustainable growth.

Working closely with the Director/Owner, you will have significant autonomy and responsibility for turning business plans into practical action.

We are therefore looking for someone who enjoys both running a business operation and growing one.

Your role will include:

Providing leadership for the day-to-day operation of the business.
Managing and supporting office-based operational staff.
Ensuring scheduling, staffing and workforce processes operate effectively.
Monitoring business performance and using KPIs to identify areas for improvement.
Overseeing payroll preparation, reconciliation and final payroll sign-off with our external payroll provider.
Managing key suppliers, systems and day-to-day office operations.
Working with our external HR partner on staffing and employment matters.
Developing efficient operational systems, processes and workflows.
Supporting governance, compliance and future CQC registration readiness.
Identifying and developing new business opportunities.
Building relationships with local authorities, NHS organisations, commissioners, professionals and other referral partners.
Developing private client opportunities.
Leading tenders, bids and commercial proposals.
Supporting local marketing, networking and business promotion.
Increasing the number of sustainable care and staffing hours delivered by the business.

Business development

Growth is an important part of this role.

We want someone who is comfortable getting out into the local community, meeting people, developing relationships and turning opportunities into new business.

You should be confident speaking with commissioners, professionals, potential clients and partner organisations and be comfortable presenting and promoting our services.

The role includes an uncapped growth-related bonus scheme, rewarding genuine increases in delivered and invoiced service hours.

Who we’re looking for

You may already be working as a:

Business Manager, Operations Manager, Branch Manager, Business Development Manager, Care Manager, Regional Coordinator or Senior Operations Manager.

More important than your current job title is your ability to demonstrate that you can lead people, organise an operation and develop business.

Ideally, you will have experience within healthcare, social care, domiciliary care, staffing, recruitment or another people-focused service business.

You should have:

Strong operational management experience.
Experience leading and developing staff.
A commercial and business-development mindset.
Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
Confidence dealing with senior professionals and external stakeholders.
Strong organisational skills.
The ability to manage several competing priorities.
Experience working with operational data and KPIs.
Good Excel and general IT skills.
The confidence to challenge existing ways of working and introduce improvements.
A practical, hands-on approach to management.
The ability to work with a high degree of autonomy.

Experience of care commissioning, tenders, healthcare staffing or CQC-regulated services would be particularly valuable.

This role will suit someone who is:

You should be someone who enjoys making things happen rather than waiting for someone else to do them.

You will need to be comfortable moving between very different parts of the role — one moment reviewing operational performance or staffing, the next meeting a potential client or discussing a new opportunity with a commissioner.

We are looking for someone who can see the bigger picture while still making sure the detail gets done.

What we offer

£42,000–£47,000 per annum basic salary, depending on experience.
Realistic OTE of £50,000–£58,000+ per annum
