Overview

We are seeking a reliable and physically capable Yard Worker to join our team.

We are a small, family‑run construction and groundworks company based in Chorley, looking to recruit a reliable and hardworking Yard Worker.

This is a hands‑on role carrying out a range of general yard duties to support daily operations. You will work both independently and as part of a small team in a busy yard environment.

Key Responsibilities

General yard duties and organisation
Handling and maintaining construction tools
Supporting daily site and yard operations
Handle materials safely and efficiently, adhering to health and safety regulations
Operate management systems to track inventory movements
Perform basic mechanical tasks related to equipment maintenance and troubleshooting
Maintain a clean, organised, and safe yard environment
Support construction or site-related activities as required
Conduct regular inspections of yard equipment and report any issues promptly

Requirements

Experience with construction tools and materials
Mechanical knowledge or construction experience is a plus
Strong organisational skills with attention to detail
Good physical fitness and stamina for outdoor work in various weather conditions
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Full UK driving licence required
Valid CSCS card preferred
Forklift experience preferred but not essential
Reliable, punctual, and willing to get stuck in

Pay: From £30,000.00 per year
