HGV Technician

Skelmersdale

Salary: £45,793.80 per annum + Bonus + Amazing Benefits!

45 hours per week

Rotating shift pattern:

Monday 06:00-17:00, Tuesday - Friday 06.00-15.00

Monday 06.00-17.30 Tuesday - Friday 09.00-18.00

We operate a 7 day on-call rota which will require 50% cover from the successful candidate

An exciting opportunity has become available at NRG Riverside within our West Lancs depot and we are looking for an experienced HGV Technician to join the team and help us on our journey to growth. In this role, you will be responsible for the service and repair of a wide variety of vehicles including bin wagons. Specialist training will be provided where needed, to develop your existing skills to support our specialist assets. NRG Riverside has the skills, knowledge, and expertise to support all your operational needs. Established in 1996, we’ve supported our valued customers to rationalise and decarbonise their fleets, save money and improve efficiency by reducing ‘Vehicle Off Road’ (VOR) time.

What candidate are we looking for?

Experience from within a HGV Technician/ HGV Mechanic/ HGV Engineer role
Experience in the Waste/Recycling industry would be great
Municipal experience including working on Bin wagons is a plus
Repairs and wheel alignment
HGV Technical qualification - NVQ or City and Guilds equivalent.
Class 2 licence preferred.
Excellent customer service.
Great team player whilst also able to work on own initiative.
Awareness and understanding of Health and Safety practices.

What will be your duties?

As the HGV Technician you will undertake routine inspection & repair of internal & external customers vehicles within the NRG workshop estate
Undertake commercial vehicle MOT inspections, repair, and final preparation for MOT test
Attend breakdowns, diagnose, and complete necessary repairs to a high standard
Complete all compliance paperwork associated with the repair and maintenance of the rental fleet
