Full job description

Job Overview
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Graduate Quantity Surveyor to join our dynamic construction team. This entry-level role offers an excellent opportunity to develop your career within the property and construction industry. The successful candidate will assist in managing costs, preparing estimates, and supporting project teams to ensure financial efficiency throughout the project lifecycle. A strong understanding of cost control principles and a proactive approach are essential for success in this role.

Duties

Assist in preparing detailed cost estimates and budgets for construction projects
Support the procurement process by obtaining quotations and analysing tenders
Monitor project costs and identify potential overruns or savings opportunities
Assist in the preparation of contractual documentation and valuation reports
Collaborate with project managers, contractors, and suppliers to ensure cost-effective solutions
Maintain accurate records of project expenses and variations
Contribute to risk management by analysing cost-related risks and providing recommendations
Support the team in conducting site visits to assess progress and verify quantities

Experience

Recent graduate with a degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related field
Knowledge of cost control techniques within the construction industry is highly desirable
Strong organisational skills with attention to detail
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
Ability to work effectively within a team environment
Proficiency in MS Office applications; experience with industry-specific software is a plus
A proactive attitude with a willingness to learn and develop technical skills
