Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Tutor with or without QTS to provide personalised educational support to students across a variety of subjects at GCSE and A Level with a strong preference for Maths and English at these levels. The ideal candidate will possess strong communication skills and a passion for helping learners achieve their academic goals. This role offers an opportunity to make a meaningful difference in students' lives by supporting them to gain confidence and understanding in their studies.
The Role
You will deliver one-to-one or small-group tutoring sessions to students who may be:
- Preparing for GCSE or A Level examinations
- Seeking confidence-building and gap-closing support from KS1 - A Level
- Accessing tuition alongside school, home education, or alternative provision
Sessions may take place:
- In person (local schools, homes, or learning spaces)
- Online (via secure platforms)
Subjects Required
- GCSE & A Level Maths
- GCSE & A Level English
- GCSE & A Level Science (Biology, Chemistry, Physics)
- We are open to hearing from teachers and tutors of other subjects and Key Stages
Essential Requirements
- QTS or QTLS qualification
- Strong subject knowledge at GCSE and/or A Level
- Experience teaching or tutoring secondary-aged students
- Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one)
- Professional, reliable, and student-centred approach
- Ability to adapt teaching to individual learning needs
Desirable (but not essential)
- Experience with SEND, EOTAS, home-educated learners, or alternative provision
- Exam board familiarity (AQA, Edexcel, OCR)
- Availability during school hours, after school, or both
