Full job description

We are looking for an enthusiastic part time medical secretary to join our existing team in a busy GP practice. Previous medical/NHS secretarial experience is essential for this role. Ability to type with a secretarial/clerical background is essential.

Duties include:

General medical secretarial work, typing up referrals and reports and carrying out searches and audits, dealing with telephone enquiries and tasks from patients and clinical staff within the practice. Liaising with hospitals and patients. Our team also share meeting cover for our MDT/whiteboard meetings.

We require 3-4 days per week (24 to 27 hours per week) and one of these working days must be a Friday (Friday must be a full day) to cover our organisational requirements.

This post is additional to our existing team due to expansion in workload and reduction of existing team hours. We would like to recruit as soon as possible but will wait for the right person, ideal start date August 2026.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: £13.75-£14.54 per hour
