Join Our Dynamic Site Moderation Team!

Are you ready to be part of a dedicated and supportive team that keeps our platform safe and secure for 16 million registered users? Our Site Moderation Team works closely with SpareRoom's award-winning Customer Service Team, ensuring a smooth and secure experience for all our users.

As a Site Moderator, you’ll be at the heart of our operations, tackling everything from scam detection to content approval. It’s a busy role, but you’ll be part of a fun, energetic team known for their excellent service and collaborative spirit.

What You’ll Do:

Investigate and take action on suspicious adverts to protect our users.
Provide expert advice on scam detection to other departments and directly to our customers.
Follow processes to prevent fraudulent activity and enhance site security.
Keep accurate records and analyse data to support future investigations.
Ensure all advert content, including photos and videos, complies with our website’s terms and conditions.
Communicate directly with site users via email and phone to resolve enquiries and concerns.

Location: Our office is conveniently located in the centre of Stockport. Only around 10 minutes on the train from Manchester City Centre and a few minutes walk from Stockport train station.
Work Schedule: This is a full-time position that does include some evening shifts and alternate weekends. You’ll be given a set day off that stays the same every week, offering a great work-life balance.

Who We’re Looking For:

Someone with a strong customer focus who thrives in a fast-paced environment.
Experience in online platforms, particularly with a focus on fraud detection or risk management, is a plus.
Excellent communication skills (both written and verbal) and a knack for resolving complaints calmly and empathetically.
Strong analytical skills and attention to detail are essential - you’ll need to spot the smallest red flags!
A positive, proactive attitude and a willingness to learn and adapt to new techniques.
The ability to multi-task, prioritise effectively, and maintain a calm demeanour in challenging situations.
